Dealcetera’s going LIVE!

That’s right, we have a brand new section for all of our Dealcetera readers, subscribers and members.
Introducing our Vlog - hosted by none other than Andrea.

I’m absolutely thrilled to introduce Andrea (dredudes) as our Dealcetera YouTube correspondent.

Andrea’s no stranger to Dealcetera or to YouTube.

She was our lucky winner in our very first contest. She was also our inspiration for our current contest when we received a response like none other when she took the time to feature her reward and Dealcetera in a YouTube video. And now she can call Dealcetera home as our resident vlogger.

As a YouTuber she goes by dredudes concentrating on her love for cosmetics, while expanding on deals and life’s random moments. Her videos are full of life and personality, offering tips and her perspective in a manner that’s very personable and inviting. If you haven’t checked her out, you should definitely do so.

For those unfamiliar, a vlog is a series of entries, much alike a blog, but in video form. Andrea will be keeping us all informed, right here on Dealcetera through a series of YouTube videos. Features will include product reviews, the latest sales and deals, her savings and I’m sure much more - so you’re going to want to tune in!  The vlogs will be incorporated into our main blog right here, but you can also check her out by clicking our Vlog tab above.

Ahhh! I’m excited. Today marks Dealcetera’s 1 year anniversary.

We have all of you to thank, for where we stand today. Being able to provide you guys with the best deals and having the great opportunity to interact with such a wonderful bunch both on the blog and on the forum has been an absolute pleasure. Here’s to many more!

For our regulars you may recall a series of contests we held over a number of weeks; awarding 6 lucky readers. One particular reader however showed her love for Dealcetera in a very special way. We’re not looking for pros, just fun and entertaining videos. Get creative! Poems, songs, art pieces. Share YOUR tips with US! Feature your hottest buys, maybe even a mini fashion show showcasing your shopping steals. Interviews. Reviews. Take us on a shopping field trip and amaze us with your grand (or not so grand ) total at the register after coupons. Those are just a few ideas but I’m sure you guys can think of plenty more.

Contest Rules & Conditions:

GRAND PRIZE: $100 gift card of the winner’s choosing

Participants have 2 months to submit their video. Contest begins June 20th and will end August 31st*, 2009. After the two month period all video submissions will be narrowed down to the top ten (10) and announced on September 2nd*, 2009. All readers and members will then have a chance to vote for their favourite video between September 2nd and 9th, 2009.

Each participant must include a link to their video(s) in the comments below. Participants must also include a link back to this post in the “more info” section on YouTube. Participants may submit as many videos as they wish, however each person will only have one chance to make the top ten (10). Essentially, we’ll have 10 different nominations.

All entries must remain within the terms and guidelines of YouTube.com. Dealcetera reserves the right to refuse and/or disqualify any entries which we deem as inappropriate.

* On August 20th, contest deadline was extended from the 20th to the 31st, top ten announcement was extended from August 21st to September 2nd and voting period was extended from August 22nd and 29th to September 2nd and 9th, 2009.
