When all the retail giants are vyying for your hard-earned holiday spending dollars, beguiling you to purchase with their oh-so-similar ”Buy One, Get One Half Off” marketing deals, how do you decide which store to buy at??
Here’s one way: take a look at the REAL deal: will you be spending more because you’re having to buy two items instead of just the one you had originally intended? If so, not really a deal, is it?
Here’s another way: take a look at what the store and its philosophies represent. Are they interested in environmentally-friendly products? giving back to the community?
Here’s where Browns Shoes comes in. Browns Shoes is in the midst of their Semi-Annual Sale where select items are up to 50% OFF. This is one sale and store I’d be pleased to support!
Firstly, I love the products at Browns Shoes. And a sale where I can just buy one product if that’s all I need and still get the sale price? Even better. But I’m sure there’s still a couple of stores and sales that match my “part-with-my-money-here” criteria. So I dug into the corporate history on the Browns’ website and discovered that Browns Shoe Shops, established in 1940, is a family-owned business, and is:
one of the few companies that donates 10% of its pre-tax profits to charities. Mr. Morton Brownstein was recognized for his extraordinary fundraising work when he was appointed to the Order of Canada in July 2004.
The Order of Canada??? SOLD!! Browns Shoe Shops and its Semi-Annual Up to 50% Sale is getting my business! How about yours??
